Expert Witness
Expert guidance in accessible living—combining property insight with smart technology for life-changing outcomes.
Our Services
As part of our expert witness and accommodation reporting services, we take a holistic approach that combines architectural insight with assistive smart technology expertise. Our process includes:
Conducting a home visit to meet the Claimant and, where appropriate, their family and/or primary carers.
Reviewing all relevant medical, care, therapy, and rehabilitation reports to understand the Claimant’s physical and cognitive needs.
Assessing the Claimant’s current living environment and identifying barriers to independence, safety, and comfort.
Evaluating the suitability of the Claimant’s existing property, including its potential for smart technology integration such as automated lighting, voice control, environmental controls, and access systems.
Researching alternative accommodation options and technologies that promote accessibility, dignity, and ease of use.
Providing fully costed recommendations for both property adaptations and appropriate assistive technologies tailored to the Claimant’s needs.
Preparing a detailed Accommodation and Assistive Technology Report suitable for inclusion in legal proceedings and compensation claims.
Consultation & Home Visit
Our expert assessment begins with a structured consultation and home visit to engage directly with the Claimant and, where relevant, their family or care team. This enables us to evaluate the existing property layout, accessibility barriers, and functional limitations in relation to the Claimant’s condition. We also assess opportunities for assistive technology integration—such as automated lighting, voice-controlled systems, and secure access solutions—that can significantly enhance independence and reduce reliance on care. Findings from the visit inform a detailed, costed Accommodation and Technology Report suitable for use in litigation and settlement proceedings.
Research & Analysis
Following the home visit, we conduct in-depth research and analysis to identify accommodation options that meet the Claimant’s current and future needs. This includes reviewing medical, care, and therapy documentation, sourcing suitable properties or adaptation solutions, and assessing feasibility for assistive technology integration. Each recommendation is supported by detailed costings and aligned with clinical assessments, ensuring it is practical, proportionate, and evidentially robust for use within legal proceedings.
Report & Court Presentation
We provide a comprehensive, clearly structured Accommodation and Assistive Technology Report, fully costed and aligned with the Claimant’s long-term care requirements. The report is prepared in accordance with Civil Procedure Rules (Part 35), ensuring its suitability for use in litigation. It includes justification for each recommendation, referencing clinical evidence and care assessments. Where required, our expert witness can attend court proceedings to present and defend the report’s findings, providing clarity, credibility, and technical insight to support fair outcomes for all parties involved.
Technology That Understands You.
At Cabled With Care, we don’t just install smart technology—we design it around the people who need it most.
Our Technical Director brings a unique combination of technical expertise and lived experience supporting individuals with disabilities. With a Master’s degree in User Experience (UX) Design and a specialist focus on Natural Language Processing, Eye Gaze Control, and Assistive Interfaces, he has dedicated his career to making technology truly accessible.
Before founding Cabled & Co., he taught accessible computer software to individuals with a wide range of disabilities, helping them regain confidence and control in their daily lives. That same passion now drives Cabled With Care—where every system is tailored to reduce barriers, enhance independence, and respect the dignity of each individual.
We speak the language of both technology and care, and we believe no one should be left behind in a digital world.
